Solving the Twin Problem of SME Financing and Unemployed Graduates / Penyelesaian Masaalah Kembar Pembiayaan IKS dan Graduan Tanpa Kerja

Current statistics show there are presently 71000 unemployed graduates in Malaysia. 180,000 new graduates are looking for jobs every year plus 120,000 from Skills Institutes. The greatest contributor to jobs in all nations are SMEs i.e on average 80% of jobs, but we have a debt based Banking system (Conventional and Islamic) which favours big corporates and dislike SME's. SME's also contribute on average 60% of most countries GDP. At their stage of development they need equity investment and guidance not unforgiving loans and debts. But 300 years of riba has dulled our senses to equity, treating risk as a four letter word whereas risk is a prerequirement to Islamic Muamalat. The Islamic legal maxim says AlGhunm bi Alghurm ie rewards comes with risk or you are not entitled to rewards unless you are willing to expose yourself to risk.

It was once virgin jungle that sandwiched another virgin jungle at the back of our house. Maxwell Drive is the name of the lane that seems to cut into the jungle and ends nowhere. Three government bungalows lined the lane. Ours was at the end of the lane, in the middle lived a Mat Salleh IGP and at the entrance of the lane lived a family which I’m sure Mum and Dad knows who. On top of the hill as we exit Maxwell Drive is a house we called the Bismillah house for Mum said the lady of the house never does anything without beginning with Bismillah i.e. in the name of Allah. I was then a primary schoolboy in a family of eleven.

Sepatut diamalkan ialah sistem pelaburan berasaskan ekuiti. Kedua, ialah situasi melampaui batas didalam penciptaan wang atas angin oleh sistem perbankan rizab pecahan ("FRB") iaitu satu sistem ciptaan wang yang tidak disandarkan kepada nilai intrinsik.

Revising my Coursenotes in preparation to deliver my "Shariah Based Investment Banking Course" to industry players at PJ Hilton next week I came across these two slides which I feel is important enough to share with all :

SLIDE 102

• Can we conduct LBO’s and Growth Capital in a Shariah Compliant manner?
• These areas especially Growth Capital seems to be the most underdeveloped area in Islamic finance.
• As banks are stuck in the mould of debt; the Islamic version of banks is also stuck in the mould of debt financing.
• This is because over the centuries this culture of risk aversion has been drummed into our heads that risk becomes a four letter word.

Raining in my heart

Our leaders must be aware of big picture. Taught Sukuk in house at JCorp. As usual a lot of story telling on fiat money, fractional reserve banking, rich gets richer poor gets poorer system, profit maximisation and jobless graduates and school leavers, USD, Riba, AlAqsa, secularisation, and the mindless Islamic Financial system being practised now. A participant asked, who understands all this in order for us to change, En Zahid? A sobering thought when another participant said "Is not that person you, En Zahid?"

Alhamdulillah baru selesai menyampai taklimat "Jihad Ekonomi Global- Sistem Duit Fiat dan Ancamannya Terhadap AlAqsa". Alhamdulillah nampaknya para hadirin menghayati mesej ku. Ya Allah Kau permudahkanlah hasrat dan hajat kami. Kau menangkanlah Islam dibumi ini supaya dapat kami memertabatkan segala tuntutan Mu. Ya Allah jauhkanlah perasaan takut dari kami melainkan terhadap Mu. Dan jernihkanlah fikiran kami supaya yang haq dinampak haq dan yang batil dinampak batil. Amin ya rabbal 'alamin.

 A never ending struggle or a struggle that has not begun?

Alhamdulillah, just delivered a Talk on "Global Economic Jihad- The Fiat Money System and its Threat to AlAqsa". Alhamdulillah, the audience endorses and upholds my message. Dear Allah make ease our hopes and objectives. Deliver victory to Islam on this earth so that we may establish all your commands. Dear Allah preserve us from all fears except our fear of You. And cleanse our minds so that the truths will be seen as truths and the falsehoods be seen as falsehoods. Amin ya Rabbal 'alamin.
